We have set an opening date of 25th April for this season.
The course is changing daily as the temperatures are warming up. Greens in particular are in good condition for this time of year.
Tees and fairways have suffered from disease throughout the winter. Tees have been seeded and we already see new grass coming through. Our biggest problem on fairways is actually from the heat stress we had last year. We will be preparing these areas for seed and we hope to get everything recovered and into shape fairly quickly. Ballplassering will be in play until we establish a good quality on fairways.
The last phase of bunker renovations was completed during the winter. This involves new drainage and new sand. Unfortunately, there has still been snow and ice laying in the bunkers untill recently, so our progress has been delayed a little. We still need to fill some bunkers with sand, so not all will be ready for opening. We will get this job completed as quickly as we can.
The lake around green 2 has been cleaned up and is ready for seed. The result is very pleasing, both in the way it looks and by giving us a greater water capacity.
All surfaces have been cut at least once. We aim to drop the height on the greens mower before opening, but it will be a few weeks before we are down to our summer heights.
Look forward to seeing everyone on the 25th.
